Battlefield 6 Revealed

Battlefield 6 is set to be the next game in the war-based multiplayer franchise and the first Battlefield game to make a proper next-generation debut on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

A new Battlefield 6 report has surfaced online ahead of the release of the game's reveal trailer next month. Unfortunately, for Battlefield fans, the report does not come with good news. According to prominent Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson, when the new Battlefield game releases this holiday season on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC, it may do so without a campaign. Like Call of Duty, the campaigns of Battlefield video games typically take a backseat to the multiplayer, but this is bad news for those who do enjoy those campaigns, and of course, it could be indicative of a product being rushed to the market in a pandemic that makes game development even harder than it normally is.

Battlefield 6's story has been tipped to involve a conflict or tension between the U.S. and Russia, somewhat well-trodden ground, only the players will fill the boots of specialist units from other nations.  Tipster Tom Henderson claimed: "My best bet here is that Russia have captured the island to use its resources and the USA side are infiltrating/capturing it."  While first-person shooters have cover the Cold War era, this USA versus Russia conflict could be set in the near-future with the tow superpowers squaring  off against each other in proxy battles and using high-tech weaponry.  Furthermore, Henderson has claimed that players will be able to choose to fight for the USA or Russia, or both depending on their preference. Apparently, the player's in-game nationality will have no bearing on the side they have to pick. This would upend the more structured and rigid campaign of previous Battlefield games.
