Activision has announced that South Asia and Middle East
will be its own independent region in the upcoming Call of Duty: Mobile World
Championship 2021. Activision will be broadcasting South Asia and Middle East
matches when the tournament reaches its third stage, which is set to start on
July 17. With the announcement, Activision will be allowing more players to
enter the tournament, including those in India. The Call of Duty: Mobile World
Championship 2021 will have a prize pool of more than $2 million when it kicks
off on June 3.
Stage 1: Solo Play
Those interested in taking part in the tournament can sign
up for the World Championship 2021 option in the ranked multiplayer lobby.
Doing so allows players to earn points. Those who earn 60 points in any of the
four eligible weekends between June 3 and June 27 will advance to Stage 2: Team
Play.
Stage 2: Team Play
In the second stage, which starts on July 1 and will go on
until July 11, players have to create or join a team of 5 or 6 players who also
qualified for stage 2. Also, once the team is created, it cannot be changed for
the entirety of stage 2. Teams will then play up to 30 Ranked matches, earning
points with each match based on the team's average player rank. Placing in the
top 256 in select regions will advance teams up to Stage 3: Regional
Qualifiers.
Details about Stage 3: Regional Qualifiers will be revealed
by Activision as we get closer to its dates: July 17 to July 25.
