Asus has confirmed that its newly ROG Zephyrus S17 and M16
gaming laptops will launch in South African in August — along with local

Tiger Inside virtual event. Asus ROG has introduced Zephyrus S17 and Zephyrus
M16 as the latest addition to its gaming laptop lineup. Both the laptops are
powered by Intel Core 11th Gen H-series processors and come with intelligent
cooling systems.
What to know about the ROG Zephyrus S17
The ROG Zephyrus S17 is the latest premium gaming laptop from the
company, featuring innovations such as a rising optical mechanical keyboard.
According to the company, this provides enhanced cooling while
still fitting powerful components inside a slim form factor.
An 11th-Gen Intel Core i9-11900H processor powers it. For
graphics, it uses Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU that reaches 140W with Dynamic
Boost. The memory is taken care of by 16GB of onboard RAM and up to 2TB SSD
storage.
The company also says that thanks to its sound system (which includes
six speakers with dual force-cancelling woofers, dual smart amps, and Dolby
Atmos), the laptop holds the title of world’s best speakers in a gaming laptop.
For the display, customers have two options. You can opt for a
WQHD panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and G-SYNC support. Otherwise, you can
choose a 4K panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync.
Asus ROG Zephyrus S17 has been launched as a premium offering by
the gaming division. It features a 17.3-inch QHD DDS panel with165Hz refresh rate
and weighs about 2.6kg.
ROG Zephyrus M16
The laptop is designed for portability, providing a lightweight
form factor at only 19.9mm thick and weighing 1.9kg.
Like the S17, it also features a six-speaker setup with dual
force-cancelling woofers and Dolby Atmos.
Zephyrus M16 comes in processor options up to 11th-Gen Intel Core
i9-11900H. Similarly, the graphic capability offered is up to GeForce RTX 3070 GPUs.
The gaming laptop comes with up to 48GB of RAM and up to 2TB SSD onboard. Meanwhile,
the 16-inch display includes a WQHD panel with a 165Hz refresh rate.
While battery life isn’t usually a flagship feature for gaming
laptops, which tend to be power-intensive, the M16 offers up to 10 hours of
video playback on its 90Wh battery, according to Asus.
As for the cooling system on the Zephyrus M16, a ROG Intelligent
Cooling system has been appointed that uses a liquid metal compound as well as
Arc Flow fans for keeping the device cool.
