The Nord was a huge success for OnePlus, so now and now the company aims to build on that formula with the OnePlus Nord CE 5G.
It stands for Core Edition as the phone aims to deliver much
of the same experience at an even lower price. And it even brings some upgrades
over its supposedly more premium sibling. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has the
Snapdragon 750G chipset, a 6.43-inch 1080p AMOLED with 90Hz refresh and OnePlus'
OxygenOS based on Android 11. A big focus with the Nord CE 5G is the design and
build. OnePlus hails the phone as the thinnest OnePlus since the 6T, measuring
just 7.9mm. Audiophiles will be glad that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G retains the
3.5mm headphone jack.
Physically the Nord CE 5G looks very similar to its
predecessor and keeps the same overall form factor. The display has shrunk by
0.1-inch, but that's a change that essentially makes no difference. The 64MP
f/1.8 main camera can combine 4 pixels into 1 for a resulting 16MP 1.4μm resolution.
There are also an 8MP 119-degree ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie
camera has a 16MP sensor. One of the biggest improvements over the original
OnePlus Nord 5G comes with the battery. It's now has 4,500mAh capacity, over
the original Nord's 4,115mAh, but its 30W Dash 30T+ charging still fills 70% of
that in 30 minutes. The Nord CE 5G will go on sale in markets across Asia and
Europe in three configurations - 6/128GB for INR 22,999, 8/128GB, priced INR
24,999 and the range-topping 12/256GB for INR 27,999. Buyers will have their
choice of Charcoal Ink, Silver Ray and the Blue Void.
