In light of the botched release of Grand Theft Auto: The
Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Rockstar Games has now issued an official
apology to fans, vowing to fix the technical issues plaguing the game.
“Firstly, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has
encountered issues playing these games,” an official statement from the company
reads. “The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic
trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world.
The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that
meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to
expect.”
Rockstar continued: “We have ongoing plans to address the
technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned
update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.”
Aside from fixing the issues in the new bundle, Rockstar
will also be bringing back all three of the original titles to its store. Those
who purchased GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will automatically have
access to the three classics, with the deal lasting through till June 2022. No
release date has been provided for the update to the bundle, however, so fans
looking forward to it should stat tuned for more updates to come.
