For years, Riot Games made a killing with their hit MOBA
title, League of Legends. However, it all changed two years ago when the
popular developers revealed their attempt at the competitive FPS genre with
Valorant. Since the game’s release in 2020, Riot Games have conquered the top
spot as the genre’s premier title. The game has seen a massive rise in
popularity in both the casual and competitive world.
With a rising player base, it wouldn’t come as a shock to
many players that the developers are rumored to be working on a mobile version
that will run on Android and iOS devices. Many major publishers have already
showcased their efforts at building a massive player base in the mobile sector.
This includes titles like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG and many more.
Valorant can make some major noise in the mobile world as
the sector has yet to see a competitive FPS title pop off. With the game
reportedly releasing later this year, it seemed like Riot Games was in prime
position to take over the mobile world as well.
However, Chinese developers NetEase have already dropped a
competitor for Riot Games with their latest mobile FPS title in Hyper Front,
and the resemblance between the two games is quite uncanny.
Hyper Front released around a week ago in Asian regions like
Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand. At its core, both Valorant and Hyper Front
have a similar concept as they are 5v5 team shooters.
